Asianna’s Wedding

On January 31, 2015, Parties A’ La Carte had the incredible honor of being a part of Asianna and John’s wedding at the Vinoy. Their whimsical wedding consisted of beautiful silver and purple hues. Starting off the morning, Asianna had The Vinoy serve breakfast to her and her bridesmaids as they had their hair and make-up done. Outside in the tea garden, which was the ceremony spot, a giant green hedge wall was being built with beautiful purple and white flowers inserted into the wall. Draping was pulled back on either side of the green hedge wall with a chandelier hung on each side as well. To finish off the ceremony location, lavender flower petals trailed the sides of the aisle. There was also a silver wooden stand to mark the spot in the tea garden where John had proposed to Asianna the year before. It was extremely romantic and whimsical. After Asianna and the bridesmaids had lunch served by the Vinoy, it was time for the beautiful Bride to put on her gorgeous dress which looked like it was straight out of a fairytale story. After a few pictures, it was time for the wedding!

As guests entered the ceremony, they were handed a program and a purple Pashmina in case they got chilly. Once everyone was seated, the parents, bridal party, and then finally Asianna, walked down the aisle to beautiful violin melodies. The vows were short, sweet, and extremely sentimental. Everyone could see Asianna and John’s love radiating through them. They were pronounced husband and wife and walked out of the ceremony to “I’m yours” by Jason Mraz. After the ceremony, a saxophone player led the guests upstairs for cocktail hour. The cocktail hour was elegant, but simple, with hues of silver, grey, and purple. There were butler passed appetizers, a full bar, and a sushi station to enjoy!

The saxophone player played until it was time for the reception where guests looked on an escort table chart to find their table table number before entering. When they entered, guests first saw the elegant lounge area with two French restoration lounges separated by a huge floral arrangement in the center. Surrounding the lounge areas were mirrored tables also topped with floral arrangements. The guests then entered the ballroom which looked entirely like an enchanted forest. The guests sat in wooden mahogany chairs around a table with a purple shantung linen, silver chargers, and gorgeous floral arrangements made up of different shades of purple and ivory. The bridal party tables had French restoration chairs and overhead centerpieces with lots of greenery, different shades of purple and ivory flowers, and cascading purple orchids. The sweetheart table had a purple ruffled linen and elaborate purple and ivory flowers. The hedge wall from the ceremony had been moved to behind the sweetheart table. The entire room was truly magical.

The bridal party entered to the upbeat and fun song, “I Gotta Feeling” by the black eyed peas and the bride and groom had their entrance to the popular song, “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. They went right into their first dance which was Ed Sheeran’s, “Thinking Out Loud”, which they had learned a choreographed routine to. Everyone clapped as the groom dipped the gorgeous bride to end the song. Asianna and her dad then danced to “My Funny Valentine” and John and his mom danced to “All to you”.  The guests then had the choice to order off of the menu of four different elaborate and delicious meals while the best man and maid of honor gave their toasts. Later on in the night, the bride and groom cut their cake. This cake was very special because it was entirely made up of cheese. The bride also surprised the groom by having a special cake made just for him because their wedding day also was on his birthday!! So that Asianna and John could still please all of their sugar lovers, they also offered a large gourmet dessert buffet filled with chocolate covered oreos, chocolate covered strawberries, dessert shooters, mini cannoli’s, crème brulee, and mini cheese cakes. Asianna then threw her bouquet to all her single girlfriends, John removed her garter and threw it to all his male single friends, and the winner of the garter toss then had to place the garter on the winner of the bouquet toss. Throughout the night, the guests were also able to visit the photo booth and the cigar roller. At the very end, a late night snack of tomato soup shooters and a variety of grilled cheeses was served. Asianna and John were not only amazing to work with, but their event was absolutely exquisite and magnificent. It was a magical night and we wish Asianna and John all the happiness in the world! We believe their lives together will be just as beautiful as this amazing day!
